Mestre Marrom

Henrique Anastácio de Jesus was born in Itabuna, Bahia, and came to Rio de Janeiro as a teenager, in the mid-1970s. He was introduced to capoeira in his hometown and in Rio he began to practice with M. Canela, at Engenho Novo. . Then he trained with M. Peixinho da Senzala, from whom he won a red rope. Since the 1990s he has been interested in capoeira angola, having M. Angolinha as a reference. Within this search, he developed works with the old guard of capoeira angola, such as M. Gato Preto, M. Boca Rica, M. Bigodinho and M. Felipe, which resulted in three CDs recorded, in addition to the recordings of the Marrom group and students.
