Gingarte Capoeira Chicago

The goal of Capoeira Chicago is to promote African-Brazilian cultural dance arts, primarily capoeira, within the broader community. Performers of Gingarte Capoeira combine rhythmic movements with kicks, acrobatics and music to create an amazing display of culture and beauty. Developed by African slaves in 17th century Brazil, Capoeira today is a stunning reflection of African-Brazilian history and commemorates the struggle for freedom. Capoeira Chicago offers Capoeira classes that include movement, song, and instrument instruction. Classes are open to all, regardless of age, gender, physical ability, and ethnicity. We offer classes for adults and children throughout the Chicagoland area.
