Filhos de Angola was founded in Salvador de Bahia (Brazil) in 1984 by Master Roberval and Master Laércio. Currently Master Laércio coordinates the GCFA group internationally. Mestre Laércio is a founding member of both the Grupo Filhos de Angola (GCFA), created in 1984, and the Associação Brasileira de Capoeira Angola (ABCA), created in 1991. Both groups are dedicated to preserve the traditional roots of Capoeira. Mestre Laércio currently lives and teaches in Berlin. He also travels to many different countries in Europe to give courses. For example Russia, Spain, England, France and Greece. Mestre Laércio is also a teacher of Afro-Brasilian Dance, which is also tought in his courses.
