The founder of the Capoeira Beribazu group was Antonio Batista, better known as Mestre Zulu. The section officially started its activity on the day of the Brazilian student holiday - August 11, 1972, in the city of Planaltina, on the premises of the Agricultural School - Colégio Agrícola de Brasilia, which was the fulfillment of the life dreams of its patron. The name of Beribazu comes from the combination of two words: "berimbau" - this is the name of the most important instrument used in Capoeira and "azul" - meaning blue. The group itself, developing over the years, has become one of the best organized Capoeira formations. Rules of behavior were developed in it, which were included in official documents. There is democracy in the Beribazu Group. This means that it is not governed authoritatively by one Mestre Fundador (Master Founder), but by a Conselho de Mestres (Council of Masters), which is made up of all the Mestres associated in the group. In Beribaz, we define the education system as "arte-luta" (art-fight). We use a combination of different Capoeira styles and try to overcome the divisions between them. As a result, students training in the Beribazu Group successfully find themselves in all Capoeira styles. The Beribaz group has been operating in Poland since 2000.
